At Terra Nature School, we believe childhood is best lived outdoors, surrounded by creativity, kindness, and discovery. Our Day School offers a safe, screen-free, 100% English-speaking environment for children from 2 to 6 years, guided by the Waldorf philosophy, positive discipline, and nature-based learning.
Our Daily Rhythm
Children thrive when days are predictable, yet flexible enough to follow their curiosity. Here's what a typical day looks like:
9:00 – 9:30 → Drop-off & Free Outdoor Play
Children settle in with a choice of outdoor activities to start the day calmly.
9:30 – 10:00 → Circle Time
Songs, stories, and rhythm activities in English. Early math and literacy are woven in through playful, age-appropriate activities.
10:00 – 10:30 → Snack & Restroom Break
Time to recharge with healthy snacks from home.
10:30 – 12:30 → Main Activity
Hands-on projects inspired by nature, crafts, gardening, or seasonal themes — all designed to spark creativity, cooperation, and exploration.
12:30 – 13:30 → Lunch
Children enjoy their meals together, learning routines of sharing space, kindness, and self-care.
13:30 – 14:30 → Quiet Time
Time to rest upstairs: nap, read a book, or simply enjoy a calm space.
14:30 – 16:30 → Outdoor Play
Open-ended play in our secure natural environment — climbing, sand play, feeding animals, and enjoying fresh air.
What Families Need to Know
Ages & Grouping
- • Day School welcomes children from 2 – 6 years.
- • Groups are organised by developmental stage, not just age, ensuring activities fit each child's needs.
What to Bring
- • Morning snack (plus extra if staying after 2:30 pm)
- • Water bottle
- • Spare clothes (including socks and sweatshirt)
- • Diapers & wipes if needed
- • Raincoat & boots (stay at school)
- • Comfortable shoes (no laces preferred)
Food Safety
We kindly ask families to cut grapes, berries, apples, or carrots into safe pieces. Avoid foods like whole nuts, olives, or cured meats that pose a choking risk. Food sharing is not permitted.
Adaptation & Family Support
We know starting school can be an emotional transition. We work closely with families to make each child's adaptation smooth and respectful, prioritising their comfort and emotional wellbeing.
School Calendar & Hours
- • School year follows the official Puerto de la Cruz calendar.
- • 2025–2026 begins on 8 September 2025 at 9:00 am.
- • Pick-up at 2:30 pm or 3:30–3:45 pm.
- • Late pick-up after 4:00 pm: fees apply (please WhatsApp us if delayed).
